Tattoo Ceremonies
Private studio in Baltimore + guest spots. Always COVID-conscious. Masks required.
These are NOT your average shop tattoo or intuitive tattoo. My process is a sacred blend of multiple healing modalities: acupuncture, hilot, and the ancestral art of hand poke batek/tattooing. Hand poke (AKA stick-and-poke) is an ancient, machine-less technique of tattooing that is traditional in many cultures. I offer two types of tattoo ceremony: Agimat and Custom Meridian Ceremonies. I work out of a private studio by appointment only, but I am open to guesting in other cities. I always tattoo with COVID-19 universal precautions in place which include masking, air purifiers, and testing.
Please note that my prices are lower than some of my colleagues because I am newer to this process. My fees will change as my skill and experience deepens. Special thanks to Julay, Julz, my other peer mentors, and those who have received tattoos from me for guiding and encouraging me on this sacred path.
Agimat
Agimat (aka anting anting) tattoos are designs that are intended as amulets for the wearer with specific energetic properties. My agimat tattoos are pre-drawn, roughly palm-sized, and does not include a hilot reading. Some are repeatable, some are not. Agimat are NOT the same as a regular flash tattoo because there is a ritual component to its creation and care. Please see available designs below.
Custom Meridian Tattoo Ceremony
Custom tattoo ceremonies are a divine co-creation between us and spirit (our guides and ancestors). The design and placement is determined through divination and the acupuncture meridians. Kilubansa and tawas are spiritual diagnostic tools in Hilot that help reveal tattoo design and offer specific guidance to you from your benevolent ancestors, guides, or other entities. Your intuition is also welcome. If you have a design or specific motifs that call to you, I am open to surfacing these as long as it is not appropriative. Please note that I do not reproduce other artists’ designs.
Please note that I have a more illustrative style. I do not work strictly with traditional motifs from the Philippines, although they may be incorporated.
The first step in booking a tattoo ceremony is to complete the booking request form. DO NOT book a 20 minute consultation first.
